Improving local transport

I will fight to deliver the A6-M60 Bypass to relieve congestion in our constituency.

Many Hazel Grove constituency residents have to live with stationary traffic outside their homes in the rush hour. For decades the council has allowed the building of large housing estates without the associated necessary transport infrastructure and, what is worse, is no longer pursuing the by-pass despite the strong business case. I want people to spend less time sitting in traffic and reduce the pollution this causes for local residents.

I will also work to secure better public transport links including the metrolink to Rose Hill, Marple, and Romiley and improved bus services across our area.

Improved transport links will boost the local economy and speed up the commute to work for many residents.
