Numerous Hazel Grove residents contacted Paul voicing their opposition to the Cheshire East Council Planning Application 23/4252M, which relates to the Spillway Improvements proposed at Poynton Pool.
Paul has engaged with the Friends of Poynton Pool and read their detailed planning objection[1]. He concurs with many of their arguments, especially the request for a full site survey and ground investigation to take place.
Paul Athans, the prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Hazel Grove said:
"Poynton Pool is a much valued, well-used, and accessible community asset and I have written to the Head of Planning and Housing to formally register my objection to the current proposals.
"I urge Cheshire East Council to further engage with the Friends of Poynton Pool, Poynton Town Council and local residents to discuss alternative proposals that better balance the potential flood risk with the environmental impact of any future scheme at Poynton Pool.
"I thank David Rutley MP and the Friends of Poynton Pool for leading on this issue and I am pleased to be able to support them."
