Council Tax Hiked by Liberal Democrat-run Stockport Council as bills set to increase by 4.99%
Residents across Stockport are going to see their Council Tax bills increase by £100s as the Liberal Democrat-run Stockport Council have voted tonight to hike Council Tax by 4.99% despite already having the highest rate in Greater Manchester!
With other household bills already increasing and squeezing budgets, I and your local Conservative team would not be increasing Council Tax which will hit families who are already struggling the hardest.
The Conservative Government has already taken action by providing £900 in Cost of Living payments to those families most in need… the latest instalment of £299 being paid just last week. This is in stark contrast with the Liberal Democrats who have just voted to make families across Hazel Grove Constituency poorer!
The Liberal Democrats are hiking bills whilst also delivering less for residents across Hazel Grove constituency, with plans to scrap weekly green bin collections and abolish free parking in district centres… what exactly are we paying more for?!
I am incredibly disappointed that Liberal Democrat-run Stockport Council are hiking Council Tax by 4.99%, costing £111 more for a Band D household, whilst also delivering fewer services for residents.
